Life is good. Cami is away at her dream college with her dream man by her side. She thinks if she can just get through with meeting Hunter’s family that everything will be perfect. Little does she know that life’s about to turn upside down again when Hunter is called to infiltrate a gang whose specialty is chopping and racing cars. His contact happens to be a beautiful curvy girl who is the gang leader’s sister and he has to pose as her boyfriend. Communication with Cami is basically forbidden to help keep his cover.
Hunter, however, can’t stand being away from the girl he really loves, and he sneaks away one night to meet her across town. He doesn’t know the gang leader, Ripper, has suspicions about him already and he’s following him to see where he goes. He surprises Hunter and Cami, and Hunter quickly introduces her as his cousin who is having some car trouble. He thinks all is well until he discovers he has one serious problem. Ripper likes Cami and decides to pursue her, drawing her into the same dangerous world he’s supposed to bring down.
Can he keep his cover without having Cami get caught in the crossfire? Will the two of them survive having to watch each other fake it in the arms of another? Or will their hot stolen kisses destroy everything?
Smitten is the book after Crush. This was about a young girl… her friend… a cop… and an interesting story…
DO NOT READ THIS REVIEW IF YOU HAVE NOT READ CRUSH. IT WILL GIVE SPOILERS!
Smitten starts off where Crush ends. Cami and Hunter/Dylan are together. If you remember, they are I think 6 years apart. Cami is going to college now and Hunter is still an undercover cop. It starts out very sweet… she’s in school, he has an apartment, they have awesome make out sessions like before… they are super cute! Cami even meets the family. Life is going good for the two of them. (Btw, this story is actually from BOTH points of views. Which is nice considering what happens in this story…)
Then… Hunter gets a call from work. Life basically stops. I promise no spoilers… but he gets called into an undercover job. He can’t even call Cami to let her know. There is to be NO contact with his family, friends, and that includes Cami. It’s a rather serious undercover mission. The person that was meant for the job got into an accident or something and cannot continue so they send Hunter in.
Basically, that’s all I can say. I don’t want to give anything away from the undercover job and that’s the whole story! It has ups downs… Hunter breaks some VERY BAD rules… things happen that I was like NOOOOO THAT CANNOT HAPPEN! And it’s really good. It kept me on the edge of my seat when reading. I liked the story.
4 stars here I really liked Crush so when I saw that Smitten was out, I bought it and devoured it! I couldn’t get enough. I wasn’t as sucked in as Crush, but it was still really good. It was nice to read two points of views and see both sides of the story with this book. I liked all the rule breaking… the danger… Even Cami did some dangerous stunts!! And man the ending?! OMG. I was like YES that was the PERFECT way to end. Some would disagree with me… it’s a tad over the top… but I loved it. As scary as it was, it was sweet and beautiful and a bit romantic. Even Cami did some dangerous stunts!!
I loved this book. I seriously wish/hope there is more Cami and Hunter to come.
